I recently took a personality test & was surprised at it's accuracy. There was one section that gave you feedback on how you communicate with others. The words it used to describe my personality in this area is "constantly taking care of others." What is said it meant by this is that I am the type of person that likes to be there for others & that will, on occasion, put others needs in front of mine without expectation of reward or compensation. The most interesting part was a comment. "If you spend your time taking care of others, you may not have enough for yourself."
I found this interesting because I can see this in myself & have actually had others comment that I don't hesitate to put others first. It actually caught me off guard both times, because I don't try to do this...it comes naturally because it is part of who I am. Right now, you could be questioning the genuineness of me & that's okay the personality test said I may get this response. So, how does this all tie together? The fact is that everything that was said by the test were just words. I have put my trust so deeply in another & the words that made up their promises that when they took them back my heart actually hurt. What I learned from this, is that if we are going to put our faith in any words they have to come from our own heart.
This also goes right along with a question I have always pondered , "if you had to give up one sense what would it be." The one that I would give up is hearing, because I have learned all to well that words are just that...words! Actions are what matter in the end. I believe in the saying, "if you love something let it go & if it comes back it is truly meant to be yours." In our world these days, things move & change at break-neck speed & the words we use can either hurt or heal. The things that could save you could also kill you. So, today I challenge you to test the words you place your faith in & take the opportunity to not just say something, but to show them through your actions how you feel. We are not guaranteed another day, minute, or seconds here. It's never too late to make the most out of the ones you have been given, be careful with your words, & to pass on the LOVE you have been shown. Peace, Love, & happiness to you all!!!
Bless You!
Thomas
