Laughter

Today, the thing that is on my mind is Laughter. It is one of the worst things to lose & best to have. Genuine laughter reflects the fact that someone is truly happy inside & out. It is even catching to others. I absolutely LOVE to laugh.

I have a great friend that owns a 501 c3 company called Comedy Care. He has done extensive studies on the effects of comedy & laughter have on people. It is proven that laughter has a positive effect on people & on their health, because it helps work your body & releases chemicals that promote good health. If you have any doubts, you should definitely look into it.

Above all of the benefits, laughter is fun to be involved in or even just to see. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on another persons face. You can easily tell a real smile because you can see the other person's eyes light up & they give off an energy that spreads happiness through the whole room. So, today I challenge you to find something funny or happy that can make you laugh, & not just a tiny giggle but a real hard uncontrollable laugh. Peace, Love, & Happiness to all of you!!!

I hope you have an Amazing day!!!

Seasons

As the season's change, they bring new weather. They also bring new experiences, friendships, & challenges. I am excited to see the many changes that happen, some standard & others coming as somewhat of a surprise. Like in spring welcoming new life in plants, animals, in to many families. I always smile when I see a mother-to-be, knowing that she will soon be welcoming a new life into the world.

Although I am not at the point in my life where I want children of my own, I thoroughly enjoy children. I can't express in words the great energy & happiness they can bring to your life. I also strongly believe that children are the most deserving of help. I volunteer at the local children's hospital in my town & it is one of the best experiences I have ever experienced. It is amazing to be able to bring a smile to a baby or small child's face !

So, during this changing season I challenge you to take a look at the many changes happening in your life & take time to celebrate them. Although the meaning of changes may not be instantly known to you, you can rest easy in the fact that when you have God first in your life even if these changes seem hard they will happen in perfect timing. Sometimes to bring you the reward you deserve it takes major changes & the size of your reward always exceeds the challenges you have to face. Peace, LOVE, & Happiness to all of you!!!

Bless You!

Honesty

Honesty...Merriam-Webster defines it as "fairness and straightforwardness of conduct." Sounds simple right? Basically just tell the truth... Many people find this hard to do for what would seem like an endless list of excuses. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that there are times when it may be best to watch what you say & how you say it & I am sure I have stretched the truth. I felt compelled to write about this because I see this as a slippery slope.

If you begin to candy coat things & not be honest, it can easily become part of you. I see this spread through the American culture leading to things like divorce, depression, & in severe cases even suicide. How do I come to the conclusion that some of this is caused by dishonesty? My reasoning comes back to the fact that being dishonest is a
slippery slope issue. The dishonesty can become something you do so often that it actually become part of your reality. In essence, you live out your lies & forget what the truth is until something shakes you & makes you realize that you don't have what you want & aren't where you wanted to be.

These situations make me sad to think about. I believe that everyone deserves to be happy, while on the other hand I can understand because I can imagine how many people were hurt by the dishonesty.
If you let dishonesty in, you run the risk of being a person that is constantly "trying to find themselves." Today I challenge you to take an honest look at yourself & the way you are living & make sure that you are being honest. Peace, LOVE, & happiness to you all!!!

Just Breathe...

As the breath passes by my lips, I remember the times in my life when just this simple task was not easy. I may be the most positive person I know, but I am human & have witnessed & been through things that I would not wish on any other person. I have seen tragedy with my own eyes & experienced pain that cut deep & could not be measured with a scale. I believe that our lives are like houses & only as strong as what we make them out of, & I have felt like I have had my house torn down at different times through my life. When this happens & the walls are gone, I am left with only the foundation I chose to plant my feet on.

In these times, I am reminded of the fact that Jesus was a builder & how he built his life on a foundation of LOVE. I keep this close to my heart & in my mind I remember to act with integrity showing others the LOVE & respect I have been shown. When this comes to mind, I am able to smile again, pick up the pieces, & return to my journey & to what I have been given this life to accomplish. I am not here to change hearts that don't want to be changed, but I am here to reflect & pass on LOVE.

With the speed of life these days, I believe that one of our biggest challenges is, "being present." Today we multi-task spreading our energy over many different parts of our lives & run the risk of neglecting important thing, missing important moments, & simply put spreading ourselves too thin. This can lead to the moments when the walls of your house come falling down around you & you are left with a feeling of wonderment & full of questions that may never be answered. So, I challenge you to reflect on the important things in your life & ensure that you are putting in the energy you need to because it is when we are off balance that we fall. If you do fall, just remember that no matter how much it hurts tomorrow the sun will rise & be waiting to brighten your day so smile & revere in the wonders of life. Peace, Love, & Happiness to you all!!!

Surviving on Words

I recently took a personality test & was surprised at it's accuracy. There was one section that gave you feedback on how you communicate with others. The words it used to describe my personality in this area is "constantly taking care of others." What is said it meant by this is that I am the type of person that likes to be there for others & that will, on occasion, put others needs in front of mine without expectation of reward or compensation. The most interesting part was a comment. "If you spend your time taking care of others, you may not have enough for yourself."

I found this interesting because I can see this in myself & have actually had others comment that I don't hesitate to put others first. It actually caught me off guard both times, because I don't try to do this...it comes naturally because it is part of who I am. Right now, you could be questioning the genuineness of me & that's okay the personality test said I may get this response. So, how does this all tie together? The fact is that everything that was said by the test were just words. I have put my trust so deeply in another & the words that made up their promises that when they took them back my heart actually hurt. What I learned from this, is that if we are going to put our faith in any words they have to come from our own heart.

This also goes right along with a question I have always pondered , "if you had to give up one sense what would it be." The one that I would give up is hearing, because I have learned all to well that words are just that...words! Actions are what matter in the end. I believe in the saying, "if you love something let it go & if it comes back it is truly meant to be yours." In our world these days, things move & change at break-neck speed & the words we use can either hurt or heal. The things that could save you could also kill you. So, today I challenge you to test the words you place your faith in & take the opportunity to not just say something, but to show them through your actions how you feel. We are not guaranteed another day, minute, or seconds here. It's never too late to make the most out of the ones you have been given, be careful with your words, & to pass on the LOVE you have been shown. Peace, Love, & happiness to you all!!!

Bless You!

Windows to the Soul

Hello Friends...

I have to admit I have been a bad blogger for those who like to read. I am hopefully back for an extended time now & have come back with more ideas expansions/development for others because like us in our lives...we grow & so do our ideas, beliefs, & emotions. Today I was pleasantly surprised by one of my good friends who commented on my blog & how they enjoyed reading it. So, thank you very much for your kind words...I think you know who you are :^)

So, without further adieu today's blog subject is "windows to the soul." Probably no big surprise, but I am meaning eyes. I was recently asked by someone what the first thing I notice about a female is, what I really look at. My response was their eyes. I know that I probably make a thousand quick assessments, but when I really look & have conversations I like to look at the make up of someone's eyes. I believe that they are the most dynamic part of a person & truly reflect some of their inner most thoughts, feelings, & judgments.

I feel that I can always tell if someone is really happy in a picture, not by their smile, by their eyes. The thing that impresses me most beyond how much personal information I feel I get from someone is that the eye is so amazing by itself. The Iris is almost never one solid color if you look closely enough. I used to have a good friend with brown eyes that in the sunlight would reflect beautiful specs of yellow, green, & even red. It absolutely amazed me. I even catch myself looking into my own eyes on occasion to see the different colors blue, green, yellow, & even grey.

I thought to write about this topic for a few reasons. The largest reason is that the fact that I notice small things that others may overlook or just not actively look for. I challenge myself to be able to look at the world through many different lenses & not make poor rash decisions, although I will probably never be perfect to everyone I will be perfect for the person that is perfect for me & perfect in my God's eyes because I live to reflect the LOVE that has been shown to me through life. So, today I challenge you to take the time to notice the small wonders in your world, whether they be in the life of another, yourself, or just in the world that surrounds you. Also, take a chance to pass on the LOVE you feel because it spreads like the best wildfire the world could ever have. Oh...I LOVE YOU!!! Have an excellent day! Every new day is the best of your life if you want it to be!!!
